Decisions on higher education institutions outside Austria

  • EuroPS - Joint Master's Programme in Political Science - Integration and Governance (PoSIG)
    • A Consortium of cooperating Universities, led by the University of Salzburg, requested AQ Austria to conduct an external quality assurance of its Joint Degree Master's Programme in Political Science - Integration and Governance (PoSIG). The cooperating Universities in the Consortium are University of Salzburg (PLUS, Austria),  University Ljubljana (ULJU, Slovenia), Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (UKIM, FYROM Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), European University of Tirana (UET, Albania), University of Tirana (UTIR, Albania), FAMA College (FAMA, Prishtina, Kosovo), University of Business and Technology (UBT, Prishtina, Kosovo), University of Sarajevo (UNSA, Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST, Bosnia and Herzegovina). For the accreditation of this joint master programme the European Approach for Quality Assurcance for Joint Programmes has been applied.

    • On September 18, 2017 the Consortium submitted a report regarding the status quo on the fulfilment of the conditions and issued a request to extend the deadline for the proof of the fulfilment of conditions, which in detail refers to Condition 2 and 3 until June 2018.
      At its 42nd meeting on 26 September 2017, the Board of AQ Austria considered the document and the request issued by the Consortium thoroughly and decided the fulfilment of Condition 1. The Board of AQ Austria also approved the requested deadline extension to proof the fulfilment of Conditions 2 and 3. The fulfilment of Conditions 2 and 3 must be documented in writing latest until 30 June 2018.
    • At its 49th meeting on 11th September 2018, the Board of AQ Austria discussed the fulfilment of the conditions regarding the accreditation of EuroPS-Joint Master’s Programme in “Political Science – Integration and Governance (PoSIG)” as well as an extension of the deadline to fulfil a remaining condition. The European Approach for Quality Assurance for Joint Programmes is being implemented for the accreditation of this Master’s Progamme. In September 2017, the Board of AQ Austria considered the fulfilment of three conditions regarding the accreditation of EuroPS-Joint Master’s Programme in “Political Science – Integration and Governance (PoSIG)” for the first time. Subsequently the PoSIG Consortium submitted a report regarding the status quo on the fulfilment of the conditions and issued a request to extend the deadline to proof the fulfilment of conditions, which in detail refers to Condition 2 and 3, until June 2018. The Board of AQ Austria considered the document and the request issued by the PoSIG Consortium and decided the fulfilment of Condition 1. Additionally the Board of AQ Austria granted an extension of the deadline to fulfil Condition 2 and 3.Condition 2 remains unfulfilled. At its 49th meeting on 11th September 2018 the Board of AQ Austria therefore decided a further extension of the deadline for the fulfilment of Condition 2 until 15th of March 2019.
      Regarding Condition 3, the Consortium was asked to explain the allocation of ECTS-credit points. The PoSIG Consortium comprehensively demonstrated its approach. At its 49th meeting on 11th September 2018 the Board of AQ Austria consequently decided the fulfilment of Condition 3.
    • At its 54th meeting on 15th May 2019, the Board of AQ Austria discussed the fulfilment of condition 2 regarding the accreditation of EuroPS-Joint Master's Programme in "Political Science – Integration and Governance (PoSIG)". Based on the documents submitted by the PoSIG Consortium, condition 2 has been assessed as met. The Board of AQ Austria accredited the EuroPS-Joint Master's Programme Political Science – Integration and Governance (PoSIG) with three conditions on 15th March 2017. This accreditation is valid until 14th March 2023. The conduction of the accreditation of this Master's Progamme is based on the European Approach for Quality Assurance for Joint Programmes. *

    • At its 43rd meeting on 15 November 2017, the Board of AQ Austria considered the documentation demonstrating the fulfilment of the issued conditions at its 36th meeting on 21 September 2017. The Board of AQ Austria has decided to confirm the fulfilment of conditions for the study programme Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Bachelor). With regard to the decision taken the Board of AQ Austria confirms the validity of the accreditation decision until  20th September 2022, the university is allowed to use the issued certificate for this study programme.

    • At its 43rd meeting on 15 November 2017, the Board of AQ Austria considered the documentation demonstrating the fulfilment of the issued conditions at its 36th meeting on 21 September 2017. The Board of AQ Austria has decided not to confirm the fulfilment of conditions for the study programme Psychology (Bachelor). With regard to the decision taken and as defined in the guideline for international accreditation, in case of non-fulfilment, the university is not allowed to use the issued certificate for this study programme.

    • Finance (BA, MA) - At its 47th meeting on 16th May 2018, the Board of AQ Austria considered the documentation demonstrating the fulfilment of the issued conditions at its 40th meeting on 23rd May 2017. The Board of AQ Austria has decided to confirm the fulfilment of conditions for the study programmes in Finance (BA/MA). With regard to the decision taken the Board of AQ Austria confirms the validity of the accreditation decision until  22nd May 2023, the university is allowed to use the issued certificate for these study programmes.     • Economics (BA, MA) - At its 47th meeting on 16th May 2018, the Board of AQ Austria considered the documentation demonstrating the fulfilment of the issued conditions at its 40th meeting on 23rd May 2017. The Board of AQ Austria has decided to confirm the fulfilment of conditions for the study programmes in Economics (BA/MA).
