Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The Recognition of Prior Learning — also known as RPL — is a central element of lifelong learning and helps to make existing skills visible and usable, while making educational pathways more flexible. AQ Austria has been working since 2014 on quality-assured, transparent, and practically oriented procedures for the recognition of prior learning at higher education institutions, and since 2021 has also been providing information and advice on a statutory basis regarding the recognition of non-formal and informal learning. It also coordinates the national RPL Network Austria and is a member of the European RPL Network.
