Academic and artistic integrity is currently the focus of public and higher education attention. The development of a culture of academic and artistic integrity is central to the quality of the Austrian higher education system and affects all sectors, stakeholders and levels. The AQ Austria Annual Conference 2024 will address these different viewpoints from a national and international perspective.

Based on current regulatory changes as part of the Higher Education Act 2024 ("Hochschulrechtspaket 2024"), higher education representatives, educational policy makers and key stakeholders will discuss the following forward-looking questions:

  • What does a culture of academic and artistic integrity entail and how can it be strengthened across all sectors in the Austrian higher education area? 
  • How can regulations be further developed so that they go beyond good scientific/artistic practice?
  • What structures and central points of contact do Austrian higher education institutions need in order to integrate academic and artistic integrity at all levels?
  • In what ways can higher education institutions support stakeholders in dealing with academic and artistic integrity in a positive and preventative manner?
  • How can external quality assurance and development contribute to strengthening a culture of academic and artistic integrity in higher education?
